A deep love of and connection
to nature is what inspires Kathleens art as
well as her lifestyle. She lives in the ruggedly beautiful
Texas Hill Country. Walking through the woods and
along the creek, hiding in the grass to watch birds,
finding a Praying Mantis laying eggs are all inspiration
for her. Horses as well as wildlife are a lifelong
passion for Kathleen and are frequent subjects of
her work.
Kathleen is a nationally recognized
artist and was one of only 10 artists from Texas invited
to show her work at the 2001 Inaugural Ball in Washington
D.C. She is pleased with being chosen by a jury of
her peers as best in category in 2001, 2002, 2003
and 2005 at the Official Texas State Fine Arts and
Crafts Fair in Kerrville, Texas. She was selected
as one of the top five artists at the Austin Artist
Harvest 2000, received an Award of Merit for Fine
Art at Powers Crossroads Art Festival in Newnan, Georgia
2001 and was showcased at the Wetlands Institute Fine
Art and Craft Show in Stone Harbor, New Jersey 1999. Kathleen has recently received "Best of Show: Texas Wild Bunch," in Kerrville, Texas in February 2007 and "Best of Show Mixed-Media: Rockport Art Festival" in July of 2007. |
